LOVE DORMONT PARKS

Currently, the Borough owns and operates the 24+ acre Dormont Park which includes Dormont Pool, 5.5-acre Beggs Snyder Park, and Hillsdale Parklet. The Master Parks Plan will consider benefits, economic impacts and equity, resiliency, sustainability, and innovative opportunities for addressing how we all can enjoy and maintain these public spaces.

The Master Parks Plan is a priority of the Borough of Dormont Strategic Plan approved in April 2021. The Plan’s purpose is to develop a comprehensive, shared vision for the Borough of Dormont parks system and park infrastructures as well as future growth. It will consider plans for infrastructure and spaces that include recreation, connectivity, and realizing these sites’ fullest potential.

Site Analysis

Check out the initial site analysis performed for Dormont’s Master Parks Plan by DLA Architects. This analysis included building assessments throughout the parks system. Buildings and facilities were assigned scores based on condition and life expectancy. It also looked to evaluate next steps for the Borough to consider, including programming alternatives and the possible locations for additions to existing buildings or sites for a new construction.
